my take: i love haven kimmel. she's a sensible mid-west girl who can make characters come alive... mostly, i think, because she has a wonderful sense of humor (check out a girl named zippy) and a solid theology.
the used world has quirky characters who move through love and loss as employees of an antique mall. i think there's some symbolism there ... and lots of redemption.

my verdict: not haven's best but certainly worth a read. a feel good read.
also by haven kimmel: a girl named zippy, the solace of leaving early, something rising (all excellent)
